The Weekly Round Up #12

A round up of my favourite blogger recipes and Etsy finds this week.

Hello, readers! I am back with another weekly round up after a brief break last week. It wasn’t intentional but the past week and a half has been crazy busy with lots of deadlines, tests and work related things. I will admit that I probably didn’t make the best use of my time and a few times I felt so overwhelmed by everything that I just ended up doing nothing productive at all and vegging out aha. It was the exact kind of thing I used to do at university when I had a million one essays or exams to study for…

I also had my driving test! Not to get your hopes up or anything, because I actually failed. But I’m not feeling too cut up about it. I didn’t really feel that much pressure in the first place as no one in my family passed the first time anyway lol.

Either intentionally or unintentionally, I ended up telling a whole heap of people about my test beforehand. I did have people telling me that I shouldn’t tell people that I’m going for my driving test in case I fail, but I didn’t really think it was a big deal. The way I see it, I can always try again if I fail and I know that at some point I will pass, so there’s no point on putting extra pressure on myself.

This past year, perhaps the first where I’ve really been in the grown up world, has been a bit of a rollercoaster for me, filled with lots of firsts. At times, I have been overly optimistic perhaps maybe a little naive. I had a lot of expectations about how things would happen once I achieved certain things or hit certain milestones. Things haven’t always worked out, but I’m starting to see now that that’s ok. It’s ok for things not work out perfectly or to make mistakes. Sometimes we fail but we shouldn’t let ourselves be daunted by failure. And perhaps more importantly, I feel that through these so called failures I have started developing a stronger sense of resolve, the ability to take a breath, regroup and pull myself together. And I think that’s more what being an adult is about rather than having every inch of your life perfectly mapped out.

Phew, that got a little philosophical there, didn’t it? If you have any wisdom or life lessons to share on the topic (or any advice for my next driving test!) then drop it down in the comments below.
